China: Through the Looking Glass

To Metropolitan Museum of Art στη Νέα Υόρκη, τη Δευτέρα 16 Φεβρουαρίου, διοργάνωσε ένα event αποκλειστικά για τα μέσα μαζικής ενημέρωσης με στόχο να παρουσιάσουν και να αναλύσουν την επερχόμενη σπουδαία έκθεση μόδας με τίτλο China: Through the Looking Glass.

Στην παρουσίαση της έκθεσης ήταν οι Silas Chou, Wendi Murdoch, Anna Wintour, Wong Kar Wai και Joe Zee μαζί με την πρόεδρο του μουσείου, Emily K. Rafferty, τον Costume Institute Curator Andrew Bolton, τον Douglas Dillon και πολλές ακόμα σπουδαίες προσωπικότητες.

 

Η έκθεση, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί σε συνεργασία με το Department of Asian Art, έχει στόχο να δείξει τις έντονες επιρροές που έχει η Κίνα, η κουλτούρα, η τέχνη, η ιστορία και η μυθολογία της στη μόδα και στη δημιουργία μόδας μέσα στους αιώνες. Οι παρευρισκόμενοι θα έχουν τη δυνατότητα να παρακολουθήσουν ταινίες, ντοκιμαντέρ, συλλογές από πορσελάνες, έργα τέχνης αλλά και ρούχα, άλλοτε παραδοσιακά και άλλοτε υψηλής ραπτικής ή ακόμα και κομμάτια avant garde. Η China: Through the Looking Glass θα ανοίξει τις πόρτες για το κοινό στις 7 Μαΐου και θα διαρκέσει μέχρι 16 Αυγούστου στις Chinese Galleries (206–222) και στο Anna Wintour Costume Center (980–981) του Metropolitan Museum.
